Remembrance Sunday

My earliest memories of Remembrance Sunday in Castle Bromwich are of standing at the window with Ashleigh as a baby watching the march past our house and listening to the marching band. These days, the march to the church no longer takes place and I wander down to the Green to listen and watch. For the past few years I’ve accompanied Eric in his official capacity as a Parish Councillor and this year I was also there as a Lion.

Our club provided some of the Marshals for the event without whom the service would not be possible. Sometimes it seems like small tasks that we perform as Lions, but their impact is enormous. Hundreds of people turned out to this year’s Remembrance Service and remembered the sacrifice of those who died in service.
